About this event

Where the needle drops, the words rise.
Words on Wax is a monthly gathering of poetry, sound and soul — inviting poets and writers who’ve released their work on vinyl to share their records, their rhythms, and the stories behind the grooves.
Hosted by Repeat Beat Poet, these sessions create space for deeper listening and conversation — a slow dive into language and sound. Each edition features a guest poet guiding us through their release, followed by shared listening and a salon-style exchange.
This month’s secret guest is a master of verse over club rhythms — a poet whose words have moved from jazz stages to festival fields, from Mercury-nominated records to late-night sound systems. Expect poetry that dances, music that speaks, and a voice that hums with joy and urgency.
Previously hosted at the National Poetry Library, Words on Wax now finds its new home in the warm hush of The Listening Lounge — a space built for thoughtful sound and curious minds.
