About the event
Fashion designer Shane Elias explores the deep interplay between music and garment in a talk tracing how sound, rhythm and personal musical history shape his design practice.
Drawing on his experience as both musician and maker, Shane translates song into silhouette and texture into sound, creating garments that move as compositions — pieces conceived not as standalone looks but as parts of wider “albums” of work. In his process, music becomes an expressive layer words cannot hold, binding clothing and sound into a shared language.
He will also reflect on performance, identity and the role of music in his life since childhood, revealing how personal sonic memory informs both concept and craft.
Shane Elias (22) is a Brooklyn-born, New York–raised fashion designer in his final year of BA Fashion Design with Marketing & Communication at Central Saint Martins. His work explores the relationship between music production, culture and garment-making, translating lived sound into wearable form.
