About the event
Join us for an intimate evening with Ego Ella May as we celebrate the fifth anniversary of her acclaimed debut album, Honey For Wounds.
Released in June 2020 on John Boyega’s label, Upper Room Records, Honey For Wounds was a quiet revelation — praised for its honesty, jazz-infused warmth, and lyrical explorations of self-doubt and female empowerment. It earned Ego a MOBO Award and drew comparisons to early Amy Winehouse, particularly for standout tracks like “Tonight I’m Drowning”.
In the soft-lit, wood-panelled embrace of Mason & Fifth’s Listening Lounge, we’re going to revisit the album in full — a rare, uninterrupted playback of a record that redefined modern soul on its own terms.
Limited edition vinyl and songbooks will be available on the night, with a curated pop-up and time to connect, browse, and bask.
