About the event

Hyperstition is a collection of images captured between 2005 and 2010, documenting the performance art of London. The series captures a moment in time that centred around the clubs and bars of London, allowing the young creative community to express themselves through performance, in the public night life spaces and gallery environments.
Each performance was designed to be witnessed and remembered. Before the proliferation of smart phones and social media, these moments in time were rarely captured. Fake blood, glitter, body paint and wigs litter the floors as the performers manifest their creative vision into life.
Ellis Scott is a photographer living and working in London. Being part of this scene as a young photographer, he captured these moments on film, archiving them. This is the first exhibition documenting this moment from Scott.
