Songs of The Sufi: Screening
Hosted By Saira Haider
About the event
Step into a world of devotion, rhythm, and transcendence. Songs of the Sufi is a deeply moving documentary that traces over 800 years of qawwali — the mystical musical tradition of Sufism that speaks of love, longing, and spiritual connection beyond boundaries. Told through intimate personal stories and rare musical insight, the film follows families who have preserved this sacred art across generations, weaving together history, poetry, and powerful live performance.
Hosted by Saira Hader, the evening will also feature producer Kaman Anwar in attendance, who will share his perspective on the making of the film and take part in a post-screening conversation and audience Q&A.
This is more than a film — it is an experience of sound, soul, and heritage. Whether you are discovering qawwali for the first time or reconnecting with something familiar, this screening invites you into a space of reflection, emotion, and shared humanity.
