Paddington Development Trust Presents Nature Of Things
A Salon For Curious Minds ft Carlo Laurenzi
at Westbourne Park
–
Entrance fee: Free to all
About the event
Step into an evening of ideas, conversation and community. Nature of Things is a monthly salon for curious minds — a space to think, listen and question together. Each session unpacks the environmental issues shaping our daily lives, with voices from science, art, activism and lived experience. No jargon, no slides — just sharp thinking and open dialogue.
This edition welcomes Carlo Laurenzi: former Chief Executive of London Wildlife Trust; President of the Confraternity of Pilgrims to Rome; former trustee of Rewilding Britain; adviser to DEFRA on environment and civil society; Vice President and co-founder of Hostage International with Terry Waite; and former tutor and examiner for the Open University. He brings a rare mix of ecological insight, civic experience and human-scale optimism.
His talk turns the lens on nature in cities — the overlooked, the unexpected, the quietly thriving. From foxes and fungi to forgotten waterways and resilient green pockets, Carlo explores what’s living alongside us, why it matters, and how ordinary people can take meaningful action where they are
