About the event

Join Jamila Bolton-Gordon for the opening evening of Carnival 60, marking sixty years of Notting Hill Carnival.
Jamila is the daughter of Rhodan Gordon, one of the Mangrove Nine, who also owned the Black People’s Information Centre on Portobello Road and is now honoured with a Nubian Jak blue plaque under the Westway. Through conversation and reflection, Jamila will share her father’s story and what it means to carry that history forward. Joined by special guests and chaired by Yvette Reinfor.
