About this event

To mark World Poetry Day, Rough Trade Books hosts a playful, collaborative poetry workshop inspired by Ella Frears’ Poetry Fruit Machine — a card-based writing game designed to spark unexpected language, imagery and connection.
Led by Ella Frears, the poet behind Poetry Fruit Machine, the session invites participants to generate poems through chance, prompts and shared invention. Whether you’re a seasoned writer or quietly curious, this is a welcoming space to experiment, surprise yourself and leave with something newly made.
