Poetry & vinyl listening sessions

at Westbourne Park

Entrance fee: Free to all

About the event
Words on Wax is a monthly gathering of poetry, sound and soul – a listening salon where language meets vinyl and stories at 33⅓ rpm. Hosted by DJ and poet The Repeat Beat Poet, each session invites audiences to settle into the intimate hush of the Listening Lounge at Mason & Fifth for a slow, soulful dive into spoken word and sound.
Each first Thursday, we’ll be celebrating poetry pressed to vinyl: from beloved classics and unearthed gems to rare releases and future favourites, with leading contemporary poets sharing their stories and inviting guests to ask questions and open a conversation – bringing poetry off the page.
This month features a collaborative session with artist Nsheem. Nsheem creates soundscapes where raw emotion and intricate beats collide. Blending alternative Hip Hop, soul, and experimental elements. His music explores themes of identity, struggle, and authenticity. From introspective storytelling to bold social commentary, his sound is both deeply personal and universally resonant
